Drug Testing System in Professional Sports

Sports entertainment targets a huge market from all different parts of the world.  Often times many people look up to high level athletes as role models or heroes.  Take Sydney Crosby for example, thousands of Canadian hockey players would do anything to have the talent and the passion for the game that he obtains.  Recently, Lance Armstrong was striped from all of his titles that he won in the Tour De France and also lost his sponsors when the breaking news of him cheating went viral.  This leaves us to question what talented professional athletes are doping and which ones are clean? Some athletes to be discussed are Ben Johnson, Carl Lewis, Lance Armstrong, Floyd Landis, Barry Bonds, and Mark McGuire.  Each one of these athletes have tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, however, some have a lot of controversy behind their cases.  My research has concluded that the doping system for testing athletes is many times ineffective. Evidence to support this will be provided within my essay.
